A branch employee told me AU Bank's digital savings account allows only about ₹1 lakh of transactions a year, so I should open a minimum-balance account instead. Is that true?

I have already transferred more than 5L in 45 days to IBKR using that. I have a zero-balance digital account only.

Bank staff mostly give such BS. Whenever bank staff says anything, everyone should just tell them to give it in writing on an email.
