I want to keep an eye on my CIBIL score and report without paying for a subscription. What are the free options, and how often can I check?

Free options that show your actual TransUnion CIBIL data:

  • cibil.com: one free full report a year, after verifying with your PAN, date of birth and an OTP or security questions.
  • Paisabazaar: a free CIBIL score refreshed monthly, through a direct data-sharing arrangement with CIBIL. No card needed.
  • The CRED app, if you already use it.
  • Many bank and NBFC apps, such as IDFC FIRST, ICICI, IndusInd, Bajaj Finserv and payment apps like PhonePe and Paytm, show a free score.

If you're monitoring a dispute, the score isn't enough. Look at the full report's enquiry section (lender name, date, purpose) and account section. Download a copy each time so you have dated evidence if something appears or disappears.

Checking your own score or report is a soft enquiry and doesn't affect your score. Only lenders checking you for a loan or card application create hard enquiries.
