Hi, I have a unique problem regarding “outstanding tax demand” against me. I had got refund for AY 2008-09 in Aug 2011. The refund that I got was in August 2011. The amount of refund was Rs 32980/-
(The refund did not happen earlier because of incorrect name in PAN Card. I got the name in my PAN card corrected, and then had many deliberations with the Income Tax officer before he instructed SBI to again send the refund)
Now, when I see the incometaxindiaefiling website, I see an outstanding tax demand for AY 2008-09 for Rs 39651/-
Can you help me in finding, why do I have an outstanding tax demand for year 2008-09 since I had got refund for this AY 2008-09 in August
This refund can be verified from Refund Status Website of Income Tax department.
I have no clue as to why is this tax demands are being shown against my PAN number.
Please help !
