I am a Govt. employee under GPF scheme and pension scheme and join in the service on 1998. Can I deposit under NPS in Tier II for tax savings upto Rs1.0 lakh ?Because I use to save tax under ELSS scheme.

There is no tax benefit available for investment into New pension scheme Tier 2 account. You will have to deposit into tier 1 scheme to get tax benefit.
