I made a big mistake in paying my tax and filing return by paying tax for assessment year 2010-11 instead of 2011-12 and filing return also for 2010-11 instead of 2011-12. However, I just discovered that i filed for wrong assesment year. so i decided to file revised return as last year i didnot have any income,as i just paid the tax for wrong year.When i try to upload revised return it shows message, since you have already uploaded return go to revised option.I wish to upload revised return correctly and then send ITR 5. Kindly advise how to change the uploaded return , i mean how to upload revised return and claim refund for lasy year. so that i can file for new year. where is that option to upload revised return. Kindly help.

First you will have to file a revised return for AY 2010-11 to roll-back the return. Then you will have to file a fresh return for AY 2011-12. To file a revised return, process is same as original one, only thing changes is type of return column value in return form.
As assessment year 2010-11 has already finished, there are less chances that you get refund for extra tax paid. You can contact your income tax officer to adjust the mistake.

Thas for your advice.One more problem i am facing is that i am unable to upload revised return. I ahve not been able to find the link where online revised return is uploaded . when i follow same path as my first upload the system says"Select Option of Revised Return ".

revised returns are uploaded in same manner as original one. Only difference is in excel file from where the xml is generated.
