Tax Deduction Under 80D for Medical Health Check up

I understand that amount upto Rs 5000 is tax deductible for Medical Health Chekup whether paid in cash or by cheque. Since it is not specified in your article please advise.

If you have bills, payment mode (check/cash) does not matter.
