Rejected Claim of TDS from Post office

My father invested in Senior Citizen savings Scheme in Post office, for the same they deducted the TDS and issued a Form16A which is not from the TRACES website. So it is not reflecting in the Form26AS, for the same the CPC has rejected the claim of the TDS deducted by Post office. When we approached the Postmaster to issue the Form16A in TRACES format, he is not willing and very adamant to answer too. He says they will sent all the TDS information to their Accounts General and they will pay to the Government account. We received a 143(1) tax demand for the same.

Can you please guide us at the earliest?

Regards, Srinivas

You should send copy of form 16A in response to 143(1) tax demand to your assessing officer and get demand cleared.
