Hi i read an earlier answer to the above question...the questioned remained partially answered as it ended with a remark that various shipping companies are meeting the Finance ministry to clarify and make them re-consider the DTC implication on indian and foreign seafarer's?? Now i am Alister, i work for a foriegn shipping company and am earning close to 25 L annually, i would like to know..that as of today what are the implications of DTC on me...is there a change in the status Quo and additionally what are the actual chances that this Draft of DTC gets cleared in its present shape and gets applied in FY2012-2013 asked May 15 '11 at 11:31 by Alister Mclain 1●1●1●1 |
As of now, direct tax code in current shape is final and most likely will be cleared in same shape. But discussions and small changes may happen when actual budget comes in Feb 2012. As per current DTC plans, if you work for a foreign shipping company and stay in India for more than 60 days, then your income will be liable for taxation in India. answered May 16 '11 at 14:57 by Pankaj Batra 5.2k●3●20 |
