IDBI Federal Term Insurance Protection Plan

Hi Pankaj,

Glad I came across Your website. I have been thinking about MFs and Term Insurances, and read a number of articles on Your site, on the same. It certainly helped me to an extent.

However recently I came across a Term Insurance plan from IDBI, which assures ROP over the period. For a coverage of Rs.50Lakhs, a premium of Rs.29131 guarantees a ROP of Rs.860640 by the end of 30 years.

I am not able to understand how much I will be able to save, if I invest 10K in a term insurance without ROP and rest in an investment. The IDBI Federal Term Insurance seems lucrative with its ROP, but I thought I would ask You.

Could You please help me out. TIA. Rocky.

It does not make any sense to buy return of premium plan.

You can easily get a pure term insurance much cheaper and invest rest of the amount in equity diversified mutual funds. It will definitely return you much more money than ROP insurance plan.

Please do not fall into hands of such offers.
