IT returns revised filing

I am trying to file revised returns of excel file to raise rectification request for AY 2010-11. In excel file, under revised returns, i'm not able to find option 139(5) under section to be filed. Can you please help me regarding this? Under which section i should file revised returns? for example 139(1), 139(4). I raised request in service desk of online IT filing. They replied me back writing ti file under 139(5). but this option is not available in excel file. what shall i do?

Are you filing return after intimation from IT department. Issue with this return is that, AY 2010-11 and next AY 2011-12 has also ended, your earlier return may already be processed by now.

Section 139(4): If any person, having furnished a return under sub-section 139 (1), or in pursuance of a notice issued under sub-section 139 (1), discovers any omission or any wrong statement therein, he may furnish a revised return at any time before the expiry of one year from the end of the relevant assessment year or before the completion of the assessment, whichever is earlier.

If above is not the case, 139(4) won't be applicable now.

Thanks pankaj ji. ALready i submitted original returns for AY 2010-11. I paid all taxes. But while e-filing, there was an error showing i need to pay taxes which i paid already (error in filling excel form). i received notification from IT that taxes to be paid are out standing. Now, i want to rectify it. When i'm trying to do so, i need to fill excel file. Under what "section" i need to file returns? and shall i fill as "revised" though i submitted original in that year?

You need to file a rectification request and not a revised return. This can be done from your online efiling login. You would need to mention CPC order reference number. You should select "Taxpayer is correcting the data in rectification" for Rectification Request Type and "Tax Payments had not matched as per the CPC order" as rectification reason.
