Can LTA be claimed for previous years

For Apr'2009- Mar'2010 period, my employer rejected my LTA bill of Rs. 21000 saying that the bill does not have a Service Tax Number on it. Can the LTA be claimed in the current year?

Also, I have travel bills for approx Rs 16000 for my travel in June' 2010 but my current employer does not have LTA in their policy. Can I claim these bills somehow?

LTA cannot be claimed for previous years. You should have settled the matter then itself with your ex-employer.
