How to avail exemption limit of 2 Lakhs for salaried person while filling ITR1

Hi Pankaj, I am working in a small private company and my total salary is 6 Lakhs per year. House rent or any other benefits not provided. In the Form-26AS, my employer put Rs.6,00,000.00 under the column "Total Amount paid/credited". My question is, while filling ITR1, under head "Income from Salary" what should I mention Rs.6,00,000.00 OR, Rs.4,00,000.00 ( after deducting exemption limit of Rs.2,00,000.00).

My concern is, If I make mistake, I may not avail the exemption limit of Rs. 200,000.00 for the AY: 2013-14.

Thanks and regards, Jk Bhattacharya

You need to show taxable income as 6 lakhs only. In computation, automatically there would be zero tax computed for first 2 lakhs.
