  1. I don't have a child education component in my salary structure. Can i claim the tuition/admission fess (around 8000INR) paid for my younger sister, under 80c?
  2. Also Can i claim optical bills (spectacles) under medical reimbursements ?
  3. Can i claim two LTA (travel with family) for FY 2012-2013 (i have not claimed it before in the 4 year slot of jan 2010 to dec 2013 )?
  4. Travel took place between two cities where State transport bus exist (no rail). But we traveled by private travels' bus. Will these tickets be considered and can i claim the whole amount of tickets ?

  1. 80C deduction for tuition fees spent for sister cannot be claimed. Its only available for children.
  2. Yes, you can claim optical bills for medical reimbursements.
  3. Only one travel in a year can be claimed.
  4. If state transport bus exists, maximum deduction would be same as fare on such bus. But you can show private travel bus tickets for exemption.
  5. Yes, you can show medical bills of mother and sister for medical reimbursements.
