Proofs for LTA claim

Hi Pankaj, regarding the proofs for LTA claims, is there a clause that if I travel between two different states I need to submit proof of tax paid or toll gate fee receipt, as I did not kept them with me, the cab driver had it and I did not thought to collect it from him, after 15 days of travel when I submitted the proofs of travel receipt, my company is asking proofs of tax paid in other state or toll gate receipts and have rejected my claim, is this a valid reason? please confirm, as I read from your article, no such proofs required, please confirm.

Thanks, Anand

No such proofs are required actually, but employer may be asking same to prove that travel was actually done.

Due to large fake LTA claims, some employers have taken onus of verifying travel claims with these methods. They may also accept any other bill/receipts from local shop/hotel which may prove that you were present in that location on that date.
