Dear Sir, I am residing at Sharjah and have taken a visa to bring a housemade from India. I already have completed all the formalities at Indian Consulate in Dubai ( a letter granting permission to recruit the FHSW, attest the Employment Contract...etc) and i was asked to complete the formalities at the protector of emigrant office in India to obtain POI stamp in the passport. But, when we approached a travel agency in India to do get this job done, they informed us that such formalities are not required as our house made is 51 years old ( More than 50 years). They informed us that she can travel with the papers received from indian consulate. I would like to clarify this subject from Indian consulate. As she has to travel soon to Sharjah, could you please advise me whether the above matter is correct. Do we still have to approach the POI office to get stamp as she is more than 50 Years. Your reply will be very much appreciated as she has to travel this week Regards PAREED asked Mar 17 '13 at 14:25 by pkutty 1●1●1 |
She can get ECNR status on her passport as she is more than 50 years of age. In this case she won't need emigration clearance from PoE office. She would need to apply for reissue of passport for ECNR and submit any of the below proof for age: If she cannot get ECNR status or don't want to apply for reissue of passport, she would need following documents to get emigration clearance from PoE:
