Online income tax filing for claiming return 2012-13

Hi Pankaj,

I am a software professional. I have not submitted the house loan interest certificate to my employer. So it will not come in my form 16. I need to claim for return while filing income tax.

Thanks for uploading the tax calculation sheet. I have calculated the return I will get. This will be my first online tax filing.

Could you please help me regarding following queries.

1) Which form I need to fill for Return, please provide the link if possible. 2) Where to attach the home loan interest certificate 3) Calculation sheet used needs to be attached or not?

  1. You can file income tax return online on efiling website (https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/). Return forms for AY 2013-14 (FY 2012-13) has not been uploaded yet. Last date for filing would be 31st July 2013. You should wait till June/July for forms to appear online. Most probably form required would be ITR 1.
  2. There is no need to attach any document with ITR form (Calculation sheets or Home loan interest certificate). You just need to declare loss from house property for home loan interest component. In case IT department need proof, they can ask for it later while return processing.

It should be mentioned under income from house property with a negative value.
