Record keeping of Previous LTA claims by Govt./Accountants

How Govt. or accountants keep track of LTA claims? Do they really verify the bills submitted, if yes how? Is there any list where accountants/Govt check about previous claims? Do they keep record of previous bills?

generally there is no verification done by government or accountant. It works on employee's declaration and is considered true, unless proved wrong. If IT department has some doubts over exemption, they can send notice to show proofs for travel done.

An employer may keep LTA claims history only for its employee. If you are employed with same employer in LTA block period and you claim more than twice in block, employer may reject it as it already knows that you already used exemption twice.

There is no list/record of previous LTA claims with government/IT department as of now, as its not declared in income tax department. Only form-16 shows LTA exemption which is with employer and employee.
