LTA Calculation

One of our employee travelled to Srinagar for a vacation with his spouse.

His travel route was 1.Cochin-Delhi-Srinagar & 2. Srinagar-Delhi-Cochin.

His expenses were- 1.Cochin-Delhi-Srinagar= 9716+17625=27341.(Economy class)

2.Srinagar-Delhi-Cochin=16716+11625=28341.(Economy class).

Can he claim a LTA for the total amt of 55682/- (27341+28341).

Thank you Sir.

As per Govt rules, economy fare on national carrier would be allowed maximum for exemption. You should only make the fare available on Indian airlines on this route as non taxable.
