Is Emigration Check Required for work travel to Muscat ?

Dear Sir,

I am scheduled to travel to Muscat on a work visa. On my passport 2nd page , "Emigration Check not required (ECNR)" has been cancelled.

Do i need to go and get it changed or there is nothing that i need to do.

I am going on a work visa for employment purpose.

Requesting you to help me clear the doubt. Thanks.

ECNR status is required for traveling to Oman on an employment visa.

You need to get ECNR status on your passport before leaving India. It can be done by applying for re-issue of passport with desired status.

But the re-issue of passport will take quite some time. I am scheduled to leave some time in the coming week. In this scenario, what should i do ? Thanks for solving the query.

Unfortunately, that's the only process. Other way is to get emigration clearance from Protector of Emigrants (PoE) office.
