Gratuity eligibility

One of our employee completed 6 years of service in our company. However, she had a break in her service during the 5th year, as she decided to extend her maternity leave for another 3 months. So, for that 3 months other than maternity period, she was on loss of pay. Will this effect the gratuity calculation in anyway?

Thanks, HRIM

As employee was still on your payrolls with leaves taken without pay, she would still be eligible for gratuity amount after completion of five years with employer.
