Hello Pankaj! I need to first thank you for the excellent help that I get each year from the IT calculators that I download from your Blog site. I currently spend about Rs 20 - Rs 25K per month from my own pocket for the medication that I need to use after I have had a Kidney Transplant during April 2011. The Transplant was necessary as I was a diagnosed with a Chronic Renal Failure Disease called Polycystic Disease in 2007 after which I was on Dialysis for more than 3 years before undergoing the transplant. The Medication that I use now has to be taken lifelong as it is part of the Immunosuppresant Drug therapy required to keep the transplanted kidney in good working condition. Can you please advice me on the eligibility for the expenses under Sec 80 DDB? Regds, V.Srinivas asked Apr 01 '12 at 13:09 by V Srinivas 1●1●2●2 |
As chronic renal failure is in the list of approved diseases, you can get maximum Rs 40,000 deduction per year for medical treatment done. This limit increase upto Rs 60,000 in case person is senior citizen. answered Apr 04 '12 at 12:14 by Pankaj Batra 5.2k●3●20 |
