Also I visited the site There I am confused on which Assessment Year to select, For the period of 01/01/2010 to 31/03/2011 of my income. In the Download panel should I select e-filling A.Y 2011-12 or previous years e-filling A.Y 2010-11. Again on the Submit Return panel should I select assessment year as A.Y 11-12 or A.Y 10-11.

Assessment year is next year to financial year for which you need to show income. For FY 2011-12, Assessment year would be 2012-13.

so for 01/01/2010 to 31/03/2011 AY will be 2011-12.right

If you were employed with only single employer in financial year 2011-12 and whole income tax (including that on bank interest) has been paid through TDS by employer, then there would not be any need to file income tax return. But it would be required in all other cases.

In case you would need, you would need to file ITR1 before 31st July after paying taxes (if any pending).

In 2010-11 as your income was below taxable range, income tax return filing is not mandatory.
