Hi Pankaj,

I want to ask few questions regarding NPS, please give me answers of following questions:-

1.) How much % interest (yearly or monthly)can we assume in Auto choice in NPS?

2.) Which fund manager is good out of six in NPS? and which fund manager should I appoint in NPS?

3.) What are the benefits of Tier-2 a/c?

Please enlighten my path and give me answers of all 3 questions.

  1. Returns in NPS are market linked. Bonds, Debt and Equity have fluctuating returns depending on how stock market, bond market and interest rates move. Another impact is from how fund manager allocates funds to different stock (large/mid/small cap) and bonds. There are no fixed guaranteed returns. But over a longer period of time, one may expect around 12-15% from equity and 7-9% from bond/debt portion. So more allocation to equities may have better returns in longer period like 8-10 years.
  2. As per returns declared as on 31st March, 2011, Kotak and ICICI have delivered best returns in Scheme E, SBI and Kotak in Scheme C and UTI and SBI in Scheme G.
  3. Tier 2 is like an additional account. You can invest and withdraw from this voluntarily. There are no additional charges for account opening and annual maintenance in this account.
