Hi. I would like to ask you two questions.

  1. I had hired a State transport bus for travel. It was hired for travelling the persons for my hometown to my marriage destination. Me & My family members also travelled by this bus. Total expenses for travelling were around 20,000 Rs. But it’s bill is on my father’s name. Can I use this bill for LTA exemption. LTA exemption amount allowed for our company is Rs. 5000 only.
  2. If I use my own car for travel during the leave period, can I use its fuel expenses ( fuel receipts given on fuel pumps) as LTA proof.

Only round-trip fare on shortest distance route on first class AC train would be considered maximum for exemption. This exemption per person would be multiplied by total persons traveled (family members and dependents only) to get total exemption.

Bill on father's name cannot be used for LTA claim. It has to be in your name.

If you use your own car, then also fuel expenses cannot be used as claim. Only first class AC train fare would be exempted maximum on such route.
