New Pension Scheme

Dear Mr Batra

As per 80CCE(2) contribution of the Employer to an Employee's NPS account is not considered for calculation of Tax.

Please let me know :

  1. whether both employer and employee have to contribute equal amount or only Employer can contribute also.

  2. Since already half of the financial year has completed, can a employer contribute to NPS for the Period of April to August for an employee in service during that period.

I would much appreciate your immediate reply

With regards

Unlike EPF, new pension scheme does not have much limitations on employer/employee contribution as of now. But employer contribution upto maximum 10% of salary (basic+DA) is allowed to be not considered as a part of salary.

As per my knowledge, employer can deposit contribution for previous months in same financial year too.
