Credit card chargebacks in India?

Do credit card users in India have the power to force a charge back on a credit card, if they are not satisfied with a transaction? I have heard this is quite common in US/UK etc.

Due to good consumer protection laws in western countries, they have such rules like charge backs.

In India too, we have such policies with most of the credit card issuers. Procedure to do same however may be different with each organization.

Consumer does not have the ultimate power. Case is properly investigated and if found valid, then only a charge back is done.

HDFC: HDFC Credit card dispute form needs to be filled and submitted to their Chennai address.
Amex: American Express India policy on disputes
HSBC: HSBC customer dispute form
Citibank: See Charges on the Card section on Citibank Credit Cards FAQs page.
