Hi, Facts : I am an articled assisstant working in Audit Department at Deloitte Haskins & Sells (Mumbai). I have to go for Audit of my client - Voltas Limited in Qatar . i would be travelling on the 12th of July,2014. My passport has an ECR stamp on it (passport was issued in 2010). I have already got a "Business- Work" Visa for Qatar for the next 30 days. Query : Since i am not going for employment purposes but for a audit/business purpose, there is no need of emigration clearance in this case. However, there is still a confusion as the POE (Protector of Emigrants) Authorities consider "Business- Work" Visa as Employment Visa even though my purpose of visit is not for any employment purpose. Also, i shall be travelling with confirmed return travel tickets (returning on 17th July,2014). Wanted to know the necessary course of action to avoid stoppage by Emigrant Authorities at the Mumbai Airport. Please advise urgently as the trip date is on 12th July,2014.

Logically ECNR should not be needed in your case, but you never know the mood of emigration officer at that time.
