I have filled up my ITR 8 days back but still status is not yet available. what should I do

You can check the status in incometax efilling site. after two weeks it updates but i didn't get mail or message. Status is updated.
If you are asking about ITR-V receipt status, it may take 1-2 months for them to acknowledge receipt of your ITR-V.
