TDS for brokerage

Hi,

My income from salary for 10-11 is 4,00,000 and it's in under section 192. Now I also earned 30000 from a real state company for brokerage and they have filled it in section 194H, but the status of booking in form 26AS is 'U'. Do I need to fill the income tax return for this salary as it is not 500000 and I don't have form -16 from that real state company. Do I need the from-16 from the real state comp and fill the return?

Thanks!

As you also have other income (apart from salary and bank interest), you will need to file income tax return, even if your income is less than 5 lacs.

If real estate company has not deducted any tax (TDS), they won't issue any form-16/16A. You will need to compute income tax yourself and pay any remaining amount of tax left.

Hi Pankaj,

I got the form-16 from the real state company, But what is the meaning of the status of booking in form 26AS is 'U'?

Thanks!

Also Which ITR form should I fill?

Unmatched (U) - Deductors have not deposited the taxes or have furnished incorrect particulars of tax payment. Final credit will be reflected only when the payment details in the bank match with the details of deposit in the TDS/TCS return.
