Detail about drink and drive case trial in mumbai

Dear Pankaj,

I live in Mumbai and i work with a consumer durable company. One day i had couple of drinks in office party and while coming back to my home cops hang me for drink and drive. After fine of Rs.2000/- they left me but the kept my driving licence and asked me to appear in court next day. I approached a lawyer in court after hearing court told me appear again after four month.

My question is that till how long this court trial goes for drink and driving case and till how long i have to wait for my driving licence. Because that lawyer is giving any detail about this.

Hi, I was caught in a drink and drive case on Sunday outside big bazar at pheonix lower parel. I was made to take the breath test and was found positive. I was taken to the N.M. Joshi road police station and was asked to pay a fine of Rs 5100/-, which I paid instantly. The licence was taken and have been asked to appear in court on 6th of this month. My question is what happens in court, do I appoint a lawyer or not. Also, when asked by the magistrate do I plead guilty. If I plead guilty what would be the sentence. Need your kind advise as soon as possible.
