Maximum LTA amount

I wanted to know what is the general industry norm for giving LTA. can a company give lumpsum amount or should it be based on basic salary

Generally companies have policy of maximum LTA amount as one month basic salary. But its not a rule and not followed everywhere.

Usually 8.33% of basic. That's what I read somewhere.
