loss in share trading

I earned long term profit [4Lacs] by selling my plot and short term profit [10Lacs] by selling my house. However I lost big time [30Lacs] in share trading.

I want to balance the profit earned [14Lacs] in sale of plot & house with that of the loss [30Lacs] I inucrred in share trading, please somebody help me this is very urgent and serious, thanks.

A short-term capital loss can be set-off against any capital gain (whether long-term or short-term).

But situation may change if you are a heavy trader and your share trading is considered as a business activity. In this case, capital gains from sale of properties won't be adjustable against trading loss.

Also in case loss is in intra-day trading it would come in speculation and also won't be available for set-off against gains from properties.

if you trade with a huge money your trading software will be hacked and reversed movement of the stock happens for example you trade with 5 lacs intraday and bought ab stock for 105 and the stock has statergy to go up so the hacker wiill hack the software and keep an big bundle of say Rs 50 lacs so that the sock automatically comes to say 100 or below so you get a loss of 5% thats 25000 that the hacker get it continues till you money is below 50000 be aware of such things if you dont believe just note ....................................
