Hi Pankaj,

Could you please guide me how I can use a demat account to manage my mutual funds of different companies through SIP?

Thanks for your valuable time and advise,

Transactions in mutual fund from your demat account is similar to as that of stocks. Like stocks, it has to be bought and sold in one off transactions and cannot be done through SIP.

Its not a great way to invest in mutual funds as it involves higher charges (brokerage is charged on all transactions) and also not all mutual fund schemes are offered under Demat Account.

Most of the brokerage houses (kotak securities, ICICI securities, Indiabulls etc) also provide mutual fund transactions facilities in their online account, These are not through demat account and is better than applying through demat. You can also run SIP in it.
